Smart-Dream Baby Sleeping Bags

Smart-Dream™ baby sleeping bags PROTECT your baby. Smart-DreamTM allows for OPTIMAL VENTILATION, reducing the risk of overheating while creating a COMFORTABLE and constant level of warmth. They are easy to put on, remove and are machine washable. Only PREMIUM quality 100% COTTON fabrics are used.

TOG Rating

The TOG rating describes the warmth or “thermal resistance” of a fabric, and is widely used in the UK and Europe to describe warmth levels of duvets, blankets and sleeping bags. The higher the TOG rating, the greater the warmth is. Health professionals recommend that baby sleeping bags should be of a low TOG rating. TOG values need to conform to British Standard BS4745:1990 which is the method for determination of thermal resistance of textiles. All Smart-DreamTM Baby Sleeping Bags are tested to ensure that they conform to this standard.

Different TOG Ratings SMART-DREAM™ and Room Temperature

Different TOG rated sleeping bag and sleepwear combinations are recommended depending on the room temperature. The ideal temperature for a nursery is 18°C/65°F.
It is recommended to use an accurate thermometer to measure the temperature in your baby’s room. It is important not to let your baby get too warm. This will help your baby sleep soundly and comfortably, as young babies are not good at controlling their own body temperature.
The following table is provided as a guide only. Room temperature may change during the night. Regularly check the temperature of your baby by feeling his or her back. It should feel warm, not hot and sweaty, or cold. Add a layer of clothing if it feels cold and remove a layer of clothing if it feels hot.
